Rawon has uniqe taste and color-dark-black that comes from Black Nut (Kluwak). This delicious food usually served with rice, and small bean sprout. Now let see the ingredients and please follow the steps.
Ingredients:
1. 500 gr Beef, preferably brisket,
2. 4 pieces kaffir lime leaves
3. 1/2 cup oil
4. water
5. salt
6. 1 tbsp watery paste of tamarind
7. 1 tbsp ground coriander
8. 1 part tumeric, crushed
9. 1 tbsp galangal, crushed
10. 8 garlic, peeled and sliced
11. 15 shallots, peeled and sliced
12. 5 red chillies, chopped
13. 4 candlenuts
14. 2 stalks of lemongrass
15. 1 part shrimp paste (terasi)
16. 3 kluwak

-Rice
-Small Bean Sprouts
-Fried Shallots
-Green Onion, sliced
Steps:
1. Clean and boil beef. Cut into small cubes.
2. Blend and grind all ingredients from number 7 till 16 until aromatic thick paste is formed with oil.
3. Add beef and lime leaves. Mix throughly.
4. Add watery paste of tamarind and stir.
5. Add water until beef are just submerged.
6. Add salt.
7. Simmering for 30-45 minutes until beef are very tender.
8. Put Rice on bowl, pour Rawon. Add sliced green onion, small bean sprouts, fried shallots. Delicious Rawon is ready to served.
Serve in hot!
