Gado-gado

   The weather is so hot today and I want to eat something fresh and healthy of course. How bout have a gado-gado for lunch! Sounds good, right!
   Gado-gado is famous-delicious traditional food of Indonesia. Making gado-gado is very easy if you following me recipe. First you have to prepare:
the ingredients:
-Fried tempe 2 pieces
-Fried tahu/tofu 2 pieces
-Hard boiled egg, cut into 2 pieces
-String beans cut into 4cm long pieces
-Shredded cabbage
-Water spinach
-Mung bean sprouts, 1 cup
-Chayotes cut into wedges
-Boiled corn
-Cucumber, slice into pieces


Vegetables

For the sauce:
-Ground roasted peanuts,
-Red chilis
-Palm sugar
-Salt
-Few drops of jeruk limau/kaffir lime juice
-Tamarind
-Hot water
sauce

For Garnish:
-Krupuk/Prawn crackers
-Fried scallion

Optinal:
-Steamed potato cut into bite size/steamed rice/ketupat

Lets cooking! Step:
  1. Blanch and strain string beans, cabbage, water spinach, mung bean sprouts, chayotes, boiled corn cucumber
  2. Grind finely ground roasted peanuts that you have prepared with 1 ts salt, 3 red chilis(or more if you like spicy taste), ¼ cup’s worth of palm sugar, few drops of lime juice
  3. Mix ¼ cup of hot water with 1 tbs tamarind, and then add the juice to the sauce.
  4. Add enough water and mix it well
  5. Put the steamed potato, vegetables, fried tempe, tahu/tofu, boiled egg  on serving plate and pour the sauce on top.
  6. Don’t forget to serve gado-gado with fried scallion and crackers!
